Frankie

Suffering Heartworm Disease

Frankie

Frankie was first discovered and placed in the Bishop shelter before moving to a foster home. Unfortunately, within a day, Frankie managed to escape and was missing in Bradenton for almost a week. After being located again, he was returned to the shelter and taken in by Lost Pet Services.

Frankie is now under the care of a new foster. Tragically, Frankie tested positive for heartworm and is currently undergoing vital treatment to combat the disease.

The road to recovery from heartworms is costly and lengthy, requiring continuous medication and care. He is currently undergoing heartworm treatment at the Humane Society of Manatee County. He is so frightened of the treatments, that he needs to take calming medication prior to his visits. Despite the odds, Frankie is a fighter and we are hopeful for successful treatment from this terrible disease. He is a current PAWs Project recipient.
